Happy New Year!

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 4, 2014, 4:25 PM
  • Mood: Zest
  • Listening to: Pompeii by Bastille in Gaeilge/Gaelic
  • Playing: Fire Emblem on 3DS

Yeeee, so I haven't added a new journal entry in 6+ months... Last time was right before I got to see my beautimous husband for family weekend. Since then, a lot has happened. Sorta, anyway.

He graduated from basic/OSUT/AIT, and we moved to a new stated where he was stationed! So we've got our own place now, yaaaaaaaaaaay, and it's pretty nice. I've started online school for a medical office administration certification, should be done with that by September. Pretty nice, pretty nice...

Sooooooooooooo. YEAH. :D
My resolution for the new year?

PRACTICE. I'd LOVE to do something every day but I don't see that happening realistically! :P So I just want to make it a point to at least practice. There are a lot of you that I take inspiration from! I wish more of you had some step by step tutorials, haha. Or maybe speedpaints on youtube, that would be great. XD But you don't... So I just gotta keep working at it. BUT I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. I've hit a plateau again with my art. ><  I just have to figure out how to break through it...

If anyone knows of any dA groups that specifically work with people that have hit art blocks, or just want someone to do collabs or art trades with, let me know!

I'd like to do that! I would love to work with somebody! :)  I just need to do SOMETHING.
My creativity is dying because I never use it! :(
HELP.

AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Sooo I drew you something, then I remembered I'm actually really crappy at art.

ixtaek.tumblr.com/post/7385094… So here it is anyway so you can laugh at how bad I am.

Stay brave <3

It's not bad!

Was this all done digitally? You're really improving! I know it sounds bad but I don't mean it in a negative way. Just keep practicing! I like how her hair stands out. :)

Thanks. I feel like it's still really... idk, squishy looking? But I'm glad you like it some.

Now if you wanted a pony... I can draw that :P

You'll get past the squishiness with practice. :) I understand what you mean. I still feel like that sometimes with my art. -.-

I just read your complaint.

:huggle:

Sounds like you're having a big case of loneliness, up-rootedness, and am getting depressed by it.
If I were to give you advice, I'd say you should do a few of things:
- Invite a friend to stay with you for a long weekend or whatever suits. Get some old love mixed in with the new place.
- Look for a course to join, even if it's an art course that you're over-qualified for and isn't you main area. It'll be a good way to meet people. Libraries often have these things posted.
- Look your new area up on-line. Get to know what's there.
- Force yourself to take two walks per day; once in the morning to start your day, and once in the evening to finish it. Routines and set times can help erase that floaty time-has-no-meaning-feeling that one can get from being at home full time. And walking will get you exercise, fresh air, and sunlight.

Best of luck.
